La tournée de Taiwan 2013 : Raohe Street Night Market

The second day of the Taiwan trip finally ended up in the Raohe Street night market. You can take the MRT to the Yongchun station and walk down the Songshan Road until the end .  The entrance is just beside a six-storey high Chinese temple with the unmistakable decorated archway.

The first stall we met was the 胡椒饼, some sort of pepper biscuit.  The business was so good.  So many customers have to queue up to buy.

The taste was so so only and we wonder why so many people crazy over it.  Then we came to this fried yam balls stall.  This taste like the cik mek molek without the sugar inside.

There is yet another yam ball with custard inside. This has a funny name, 芋包芋 meaning, yam covered with yam.

There was this obscene looking chicken drumstick sausage which is also liked by many.  It tasted fabulous.

Stinking toufu. This we think, has the foulest smell that we had ever smelled , and people eat blood like eating ice cream.

White bitter gourd with pineapple juice.  Nice white bitter gourd which is very bitter.

The Raohe Street night market has a mascot that is owl.

And behind the roll of shop houses in the Raohe river, and that is where the beautiful rainbow bridge situated.
